Acuvate Software ,a Hyderabad based Microsoft Certified Partner, revealed their corporate intranet built on Microsoft's latest SharePoint version SharePoint 2010(Beta release).
MOSS 2010 is significantly enhanced version of SharePoint - both from usability as well as functionality standpoint. First release of Acuvate’ s intranet uses Composites and Sites pillars of MOSS2010 and it runs on a 64-bit processor in a Virtualized environment created using Hyper-V. This Intranet will have two more key releases over next four months.
New “Office Ribbon” on the user interface offers a familiar experience to the user. MOSS 2010 addresses many limitations of MOSS2007 e.g. storage of list data in a relational manner. With “Access Services” it is very easy to define relational data entities and build applications around it.
Ability to edit and Publish SharePoint workflows using Visio, integration of Fast, Enhanced two way BDC capabilities make MOSS2010 an extremely powerful platform. Acuvate has released the intranet to a core group of 10 users who will be exploring and customizing the application. Next release, which is expected in a month from now, will focus on showcasing Insight, communities and search features.
